« on: December 29, 2010, 12:32:12 PM »

This thread will be for actual load data only (Not load development or untried loads). Please try and provide as many details as possible when submitting into this thread. Discussion regarding load data will not take place in this thread.. please post to the general area for questions or comments regarding data contained in this thread. Comments and concerns can be amended to the load data here by their OP.

I'll start with a basic, but useful load form

Hornady FTX 325s...
« Reply #3 on: December 29, 2010, 12:50:56 PM »

Some Hornady 325 FTX loads... again, use at your own risk, latter up to these loads, etc...

.458 Hornady 325gr FTX
29gr Lil Gun 1860FPS
CCI 350 Primer/C.O.A.L  2.140”

I've had great luck with this round accuracy wise. My only concern is that I've read it doesn't expand very well below 1600FPS.. I haven't had a chance to plug anything with it yet, but I'll post back when I do.

325 Hornady FTX
37-38 gr IMR 4198
CCI 350
COAL 2.15"

Cases trim to 1.570. 38.4grs. IMR 4198, CCI 350 with a 300gr. Rem. JHP. OAL= 2.080. No crimp.
Puts them were i'm looking out to 100m.

34.5 gr. H110, CCI 350 primers, 2.02 OAL, ave. chrongraphed speed--1850 fps.--27 fps SD

So far my best load with the Remington 300 JHP is
46.5 gr. Ramshot Xterminator
WLP primer
OAL 2.02
This load shot groups roughly half of what I was able to get with RL7.
It could be that my rifle just doesn't like RL 7 or I need to play with the charge weight and primers.

They were shot at 75 yards.  With the exception of the TTSX and RL7 which was shot at 100 yards.  My range is only 75, but I went to visit a friend who has a 100-300 yard on his property.  He uses 55 gallon plastic barells filed with concrete washout for backstops.  The Socom blows a plume of dust about 12' into the air when you strike it approximately 4" below the top surface of the concrete.  We all got a big kick out of that.

Fasttwist.  I included the factory SBR just for you.  I'm working up some loads with Lil Gun and the TTSX right now I'll post those upon completion.  I need to get me some of them Outlaw State Bullets and try them.  You know where I can get some?  LOL
