I'm looking for one. Preferably an A2 type but I can't find any out there.

Thanks.

That's the threads on the Rock River Arms one.  If you call them they have the standard flash hider they have on their socom barrels for like $38.  A lot cheaper than the vortex one listed on their web page.

I am pretty sure RR uses 5/8 x 32 threads, not what Marty used which was/is 5/8 x 24.  That has always been a sore spot for me, why RR did not use the standard 5/8 x 24 instead of the bastard sized 5/8 x 36.

The smith vortex on their web page is : SOC0001V
Smith Vortex Flash Hider, .458 SOCOM
5/8-32 thread.

I would imagine their A2 flash hider would be the same.

I use 5/8 x 24 because it allows me to take a .30 cal FH and bore it out to .458.

RRA makes lots of .30 cal rifles and to avoid one of their smiths (they move a bit faster than I would) accidentally installing a .30 cal FH on a .458, they changed to the x 32 pattern - to prevent disaster.

You can take a .30 cal FH and have a machinist bore it out to .470" (or as much as .50") and it will work just dandy

If you have any doubts about the thread pitch....just check it with a T/P gauge before ordering anything to fit it.

My "Marty Built" is 5/8" X 24
